Geoffrey Gifford

Born: 1954 in Adelaide, South Australia.

BFA (Sculpture) South Australian School of Art 1976

As an artist, I am interested in biology, psychology, quantum physics, social media, the nature of truth, and concepts of value.

These interests manifest themselves in my art in various forms - from sculpture to woodblocks, from videos to collages.
I utilise a variety of computer-aided systems and manual processes to realise my ideas.

As a designer, I’ve created record covers, theatre sets and costumes, interiors for restaurants and nightclubs, furniture, identities for cultural institutions, books, magazines, catalogues, packaging, and interfaces.

I have been the recipient of numerous awards for my graphic, theatre and book designs. My work is in the permanent collection of the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Royal Library in London.

I live and work in Sydney, Australia.
